Known in the 70's in Sri Lanka as Paramesh Konezsh, MP Konezsh is one of two brothers who composed and
produced the very first Tamil music record on the island of Sri Lanka. To this day, his music is found on
the airwaves of Sri Lankan as well as other radio stations around the world.
While also being a music director at SLBC (Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation), MP Konezsh produced many
hundreds of music tracks in Sri Lanka. The following are only some of his music.
In the 1980's while living in Germany, MP Konezsh conducted more than 30 live music shows across Europe. It was
the largest live Tamil music orchestra in Europe, attracting thousands of Tamils from across the continent. The
orchestra comprised of both Tamil & German musicians. During the late 1980's Mr. M P Konezsh opened Europe's
first Tamil language school, operating on weekends and teaching music, language and religion. Within a short time,
the school grew to hundreds of students. Today, there are many such schools in Europe, operating successfully for
the benefit of Tamil students.
Following that, he moved to Canada in 1990 and opened Canada's first Tamil music & radio studio, and then
started "Radio Asia Canada", Canada's first daily Tamil radio show. It was aired for two hours a day on 530AM from
Brampton, Ontario. Shortly after, the service expanded to becoming a full-time radio in Toronto, Montreal, the
European nations, and finally Ottawa.
In September of 2001, Mr. M P Konezsh opened Canada's very first Tamil television channel known as ITBC Television
Canada. ITBC Television Canada made history by becoming the first Tamil language television channel in North America.
Today, this channel continues to operate as TamilOne Television.
Mr. M P Konezsh has made a tremendous amount of contribution to the development of Tamil culture & arts in Sri Lanka,
Europe and Canada, recognized on many occaions by the government of Germany & Canada.
